Key Concepts

RGB: Each pixel = 3 channels, 0-255 each (24 bits)

Resolution: Width × Height in pixels

Bit Depth: Bits per pixel — more bits = more colors

File Size: W × H × bit_depth / 8 bytes

Color Depths

        1-bit: 2 colors (B&W)

        8-bit: 256 colors

        24-bit: 16.7M colors (true color)

        32-bit: 24-bit + alpha channel
