8 Stages: Erikson proposed eight stages of psychosocial development spanning from infancy to late adulthood, each with a core crisis to resolve.
Psychosocial Crisis: Each stage presents a conflict between two opposing outcomes. Successfully resolving the crisis develops a virtue/strength.
Lifespan Development: Unlike Freud, Erikson emphasized development continues throughout the ENTIRE lifespan, not just childhood.
